The Incense in Grand Chalet by Astier de Villatte. Lost in Swiss Alpine pastures, at the heart of a small and peaceful village, stands the imposing and magnificent wooden structure of the Grand Chalet. It was here, in this unique landscape with its healing climate, that the painter Balthus made his home, enchanted by the fragrances of milk, honey and hints of citrus from the ancient lime trees that surrounded his studio. Today, like a wonderful memory, his favorite perfume fills this place once again.

Founders Benoît Astier de Villatte and Ivan Pericoli have been making unique lifestyle pieces in Paris for fifteen years. Their signature ceramics, candles, and glassware are all handmade in an antique Bastille workshop that originally housed Napolean's silversmith. Best known for their 18th- and 19th-century inspired black terra-cotta pottery, Astier de Villatte's team hand makes each piece in a traditional style that has been passed down through generations.
